About HHH

Hi, my name is Amy.  I am a happy wife and mother who is intent on taking care of myself for the benefit of me and my family.

I must admit, I LOVE food, but I love being healthy even more.  There was a time when I was 50+ pounds overweight, lethargic, depressed, and frankly, a grouch.  I hated the way I felt, and I couldn't keep up the pace with my family.  I finally made a quality decision to lose the weight, but more importantly, get physically fit.  It's not just enough to be skinny.  You need the energy to truly enjoy life!  There was only one caveat:  I had to love what I was eating.  I spent over a year researching recipes, cooking methods, flavors, and styles, until I finally taught myself what would work and what wouldn't.  I lost the weight, have kept it off, and all while eating fabulously yet inexpensively!

My goal at HungryHappyHealthy is to provide you with all the information, links, and support you need to achieve your goals, whether it is to maintain your current weight, shed a few pounds, or even just know that you are feeding you and your family well-balanced, delicious, and nutritious meals.  If your life is hectic, but you are ready for a change or just a little help, then this site is for you!

I currently have posted a Recipe Index from which you can build your own customized menu.  These are ever-growing. You will know that they are great and easy because I test each one personally with my family of four.  My personal philosophy is, "There is a time for everything."  That includes treats!  So while the majority of the recipes focus on healthy nutrition, there are also some treats thrown in there for those well-deserved splurge days.  The Where to Start section on the right sidebar is a great place to find information on individual topics, from gardening to saving to recipes.  There is also a growing section of Links that I use to save money and track my nutrition and fitness information. 
I know that you still have to go from here to another site to track and plan your nutrition and fitness information.  My biggest goal for the site is to consolidate all of those tools right here.  I am currently building an application that will allow you to do all of that directly from my site along with. menu-planning and grocery lists.  Until it is ready, I will continue to provide you with all the information you need here, in as succinct a manner as possible.  Rest assured that I am working continually to improve the site each day for your benefit.
